The Charlie Daniels band ventured into Bath, NY last night for the Steuben County Fair
The Charlie Daniels band ventured into Bath, NY last night for the Steuben County Fair. Most of the time when you hear of a classic country act rolling into a county fair, it tends to be an act which has had their fifteen minutes of fame and is now just trying to make a buck. Luckily for all of us in Steuben County, this was not the case for Charlie Daniels.
Daniels opened right up with “Southern Boy” as the grand stand greeted him in for the night. He shared many stories of growing up back in Wilmington, NC and making it in Nashville as fans listened in to hear the stories from the legend. He played covers from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard and spoke very highly of each legend.
Daniels shared with us things that are close to him and what he believes. The two things that will always protect America: the almighty God and our great troops. He then dedicated the next track to any future or current military and all the Veterans as he thanked them for making the ultimate sacrifice. He also took time to brag on each member of his band, and even had them showcase a song of their own along with a solo from each member; honestly, one of the best guitar solos we have ever seen! If you get the chance, catch The Charlie Daniels band on tour!
Concert defining moments:
- How Great Thy Art with the crowd singing along
- The final track of the night: “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Seeing about 100 cell phones go up at once to record it and sing along
